Landlord Vision vs TenantCloud: Which is Right for You?

By 8 min read • September 14, 2026

Landlord Vision and TenantCloud both cover a wide range of everyday landlord tasks, but they have been built around different rental markets. TenantCloud combines property listings, rental applications, tenant screening, online rent collection, maintenance and accounting in one broad platform. Landlord Vision focuses more heavily on UK property accounting, statutory compliance and tax workflows.

The question is not whether TenantCloud can be used by a UK landlord. It is whether the parts of the platform you rely on most line up with the way renting actually works in the UK. This comparison looks at how both systems handle daily management, where their features diverge and which type of portfolio each platform fits best.

Quick Comparison Table

Both platforms help landlords manage properties and tenancies, but the big difference is the rental market each one has been built around.

Platform Overview

Before looking at specific features, it helps to understand what each platform is designed to achieve and the type of rental business it serves best.

Landlord Vision

Overview

Landlord Vision is a UK property management and accounting platform. It brings tenancy administration, rent schedules, Open Banking feeds, safety certificates, maintenance tasks and double-entry bookkeeping together in a single system. Available on desktop web browsers and mobile apps for iOS and Android, it is designed around UK property legal frameworks and tax rules.

Ideal for

UK landlords and property businesses managing residential, HMO or mixed-use portfolios who want detailed property accounting, statutory compliance tracking and day-to-day tenancy records in one central platform.

Highlight features

  • Built-in double-entry property accounting reporting suite (profit and loss, balance sheet, trial balance, nominal ledger)
  • Open Banking feeds and bank reconciliation
  • Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax submissions included across every plan
  • UK landlord compliance tracking for Gas Safety, EPC, EICR and Right to Rent
  • Tenant portal, maintenance service desk, work orders, key tracking and multi-user access

TenantCloud

Overview

TenantCloud is a US-based cloud property management platform that tries to cover almost everything from advertising a vacancy through to collecting rent and handling repairs. It allows landlords to market vacant properties, receive online applications, order applicant screening reports, generate digital leases with e-signatures, collect rent online and log maintenance requests.

Ideal for

Landlords and property managers who want an all-in-one pre-tenancy and management workflow, particularly those operating in the US rental market or managing international units where US payment and screening infrastructure is suitable.

Highlight features

  • Online rental listings and direct syndication to US rental portals
  • Integrated tenant screening (credit, criminal background and eviction checks)
  • Online lease agreements, document storage and digital signatures
  • Automated rent invoicing, payment processing and receipt tracking
  • Maintenance request management with service-professional assignment and messaging

Pricing Breakdown

The prices are hard to compare directly because they are sold in different currencies and include different kinds of tools.

Landlord Vision

Landlord Vision publishes standard pricing online, charging a monthly or annual software subscription based on active tenancy allowances (excluding VAT):

  • Starter: £19.97 + VAT per month (includes 4 tenancies)
  • Standard: £34.97 + VAT per month (includes 10 tenancies; extra tenancies £1.10 + VAT / month)
  • Premium: £44.97 + VAT per month (includes 15 tenancies; extra tenancies £1.30 + VAT / month)
  • Enterprise: £99.97 + VAT per month (includes 25 tenancies; extra tenancies £1.50 + VAT / month)

All plans include a two-week free trial, unlimited users and MTD for Income Tax filing as standard.

TenantCloud

TenantCloud publishes Starter, Growth, Pro and Business plans in US dollars, billed monthly or annually. At the time of writing, its own pricing pages display varying rates for Starter (advertised between $18 and $25 per month on different sections of its site), while annual billing starts from $15 per month equivalent:

  • Starter: $18 per month, or $15 per month equivalent when billed annually
  • Growth: $35 per month (adds lease builder, property message boards and expanded accounting tools)
  • Pro: $60 per month (adds individual owner portals, lead tracking and advanced maintenance tools)
  • Business: Custom quote starting from $100 per month for larger portfolio teams needing custom workflows

Paid plans include a 14-day free trial.

TenantCloud’s plans bundle pre-tenancy tools such as listings and screening, while Landlord Vision’s pricing is centred on UK portfolio management, accounting and statutory compliance.

Key Feature Comparisons

Financial & Accounting Tools

TenantCloud approaches finances from a practical property bookkeeping perspective. Landlords can log income and expenses, match payments to tenants, track security deposits and generate financial reports. On its US payment rails, rent can be paid via ACH bank transfer or debit and credit cards. However, its tax reporting includes US forms like 1099-MISC rather than UK Self Assessment or MTD schedules.

Landlord Vision provides a self-contained double-entry accounting engine. It allows landlords to connect UK bank accounts through Open Banking and reconcile rent and other transactions. Landlords can generate balance sheets, nominal ledgers, trial balances, aged receivables and payables, cash flow statements and capital gains reports. It also includes Making Tax Digital for Income Tax submissions across all plans and supports direct Xero export on Enterprise.

TenantCloud gives landlords practical rental bookkeeping and payment records. Landlord Vision goes further into formal property accounting and UK tax reporting.

Tenancy Management

TenantCloud provides a broad suite of tools for finding and onboarding tenants. Landlords can create listing pages, accept online applications, run applicant screening reports, configure custom lease agreements and collect digital signatures. Once occupied, tenants can log maintenance requests, view lease terms and pay rent through a dedicated tenant portal or mobile app.

Landlord Vision focuses primarily on the operational management of active tenancies. It tracks rent payment schedules, manages arrears, logs tenant communications and provides a web-based tenant portal and repair service desk. It also includes a Legal Document Centre, key tracking, contractor directories and formal maintenance work orders with email worksheets.

TenantCloud covers more of the journey before a tenancy starts. Landlord Vision puts more emphasis on managing the tenancy, property records and accounts once the portfolio is up and running.

Compliance & Task Management

The UK-versus-US difference is clearest in the compliance section.

Landlord Vision is built around UK statutory landlord compliance. It monitors renewal dates and certificate retention for Gas Safety, Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and local council licences. It also records Right to Rent checks for tenancies in England and connects expiry dates to a central calendar with early-warning reminders.

TenantCloud publishes general task, document and inspection tools, but it does not present Gas Safety, EICR, EPC or Right to Rent tracking as dedicated features.

Some TenantCloud workflows also reflect US rental conventions that do not translate directly to the UK. For example, its application workflow allows landlords to set and charge applicant fees. In England, landlords and agents cannot charge prospective tenants application or referencing fees under the Tenant Fees Act 2019. Landlords in England must cover referencing costs themselves rather than passing them to applicants.

TenantCloud can store documents and manage rental tasks, but Landlord Vision’s compliance tools are built specifically around UK landlord obligations.

Customer Feedback Snapshot

Customer reviews can give a better sense of what people actually value once they are using the platform, than just a list of features.

Landlord Vision

Landlord Vision reviews often come back to having accounts and property records in one place, alongside the support available when users are learning the system. There is some acknowledgement that the accounting side takes a little getting used to, particularly for more complicated portfolios.

“I cannot recommend Landlord Vision highly enough. Faced with adopting software for our 36 tenancies we tried another software system first but found it could not cope with even fairly basic accountancy tasks. We have quite complicated needs. Moving to Landlord Vision was a bit of a learning curve but friendly and unlimited technical support made it simpler than we feared. We now know, compared with our old spread sheets, it will not only save us time and effort but reduce other accountancy costs. Thoroughly recommended.” Trustpilot, March 2026

TenantCloud

TenantCloud’s Trustpilot feedback is much more mixed. Its profile currently carries a 2.5/5 TrustScore, with recent reviews ranging from strong praise for the breadth of the platform and customer support to complaints about usability, payment processing and software reliability. That makes the review picture harder to summarise with a single theme.

“Good overall and works for my single rental needs. Easy to access on desktop and mobile app to keep track of my property. Invoice for rent payment posts automatically and rent is paid to bank account automatically. My tenant also says he enjoys using the app. Biggest downside is the length of time it takes to receive my rent payments – about 10 days!” Trustpilot, November 2023

Pros & Cons

Landlord Vision

TenantCloud

Pros:

  • Broad all-in-one workflow covering listings, applicant screening, e-leases and rent collection

Cons:

  • Many published workflows and payment rails (ACH) are oriented around the US rental market

Who Should Use What

The choice between these platforms comes down to whether you need a tool built around UK legal and financial rules or an all-in-one leasing platform designed for US rental workflows.

Choose Landlord Vision if…

  • You manage a UK rental portfolio and need software built around UK tenancy law, Open Banking and tax rules.
  • You want a double-entry accounting ledger to manage your property accounts, balance sheets and nominal ledgers in one place.
  • You need early-warning reminders for mandatory UK certificates like Gas Safety, EICRs, EPCs and Right to Rent checks.
  • You want Making Tax Digital for Income Tax reporting included within your property management software.

Choose TenantCloud if…

  • You want listings, applications, tenant screening and lease signing built into the same platform, and those US-oriented workflows are relevant to the properties you manage.
  • You value an all-in-one pre-tenancy workflow covering marketing through to move-in.
  • You want a built-in lease builder with digital e-signatures for standard agreements.
  • You do not require UK-specific compliance alerts, Open Banking feeds or HMRC tax filing tools.

Final Thoughts & Next Steps

TenantCloud covers a broad range of stages in the rental journey, particularly before a tenant moves in. The trade-off for a UK landlord is that many of those workflows have been built around US rental practices, from ACH bank transfers to 1099 tax forms and applicant-paid fees.

Landlord Vision is more focused on what happens once you are running a UK portfolio: tracking rent, keeping detailed accounts, managing compliance deadlines, logging maintenance and preparing tax records. Landlord Vision is likely to be the better fit if UK accounting, compliance and tax administration are the parts of the job you most need help with.

If you are managing US properties or need an all-in-one listing and screening workflow, explore TenantCloud’s plans.

If your priority is running an established UK portfolio with proper accounting, compliance tracking and Open Banking feeds, start a two-week free trial with Landlord Vision or book a product demo today.
